EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK
campaign for minimum wage equality

Title.

In 1997, minimum wage laws were introduced in the UK.

These laws were, however, unfair and unequal.

Under 18s must be paid £3.53 per hour, whereas over 21s earn at least £5.73 per hour, while university students struggle to pay for tuition with a lower rate of £4.77 per hour.

This is nothing less than age discrimination.

It creates a situation where a person's age, not the quality of a person's work, determines their pay, and where two people in the same job can be paid different rates merely because one is younger.

We believe that all people over the age of 16 should be entitled to the same minimum wage rates.

This website is the online hub of the campaign for minimum wage equality.
